The role
CAIR-Nepal invites motivated students and recent graduates to apply for the AI for Education Internship. This program focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance learning experiences, improve educational accessibility, and design data-driven learning systems. Interns will work alongside researchers and developers to explore how machine learning, NLP, and AI tools can support teachers, students, and institutions in Nepal.
This internship offers hands-on experience in applying AI for social good, particularly within the education sector.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to research and development of AI tools that enhance teaching and learning in the Nepali education system
- Assist in building and testing intelligent tutoring systems and adaptive learning applications
- Collect and analyze educational datasets for model training and evaluation
- Support the creation of prototypes and documentation for ongoing CAIR-Nepal education projects
- Collaborate with mentors, researchers, and partner institutions to evaluate AI-driven educational tools
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project outcomes
What we are looking for
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Education Technology, or related disciplines
- Solid understanding of machine learning principles and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
- Proficiency in Python and data handling libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib)
- Familiarity with natural language processing, chatbots, or educational technologies is a plus
- Interest in the intersection of AI, education, and social impact
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
