CAIR-Nepal successfully concluded the Professional Research Writing Bootcamp: 1-Week Practical Program, an intensive online training designed to help students, early-career researchers, and professionals build practical skills for academic and professional research writing.
The bootcamp was held from April 23 to April 29, 2026, with daily sessions conducted online from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM NST. The program focused on helping participants understand the complete research writing process, from developing research questions and structuring manuscripts to preparing figures, handling citations, selecting journals, and responding to peer-review comments.
Throughout the week, participants engaged in structured lectures, hands-on writing exercises, practical assignments, and guided discussions. The sessions covered key areas including the IMRaD structure, research ethics, literature review development, data visualization, writing core manuscript sections, publication strategy, and final manuscript refinement. The bootcamp also emphasized practical learning by encouraging participants to work on their own manuscript drafts and receive continuous feedback.
Participant feedback reflected the value of the program. One participant shared that the bootcamp helped them understand "how to approach writing a research manuscript" and gain important insights into the research writing process. Another participant highlighted the practical nature of the sessions, noting that the combination of lectures and hands-on workshops made the learning experience engaging and useful. Participants also appreciated the focus on continuous learning, figure development, manuscript structure, and the overall flow of writing a research paper.
Several participants expressed interest in attending more workshops organized by CAIR-Nepal in the future. Their responses reaffirm CAIR-Nepal’s commitment to strengthening research capacity, supporting emerging researchers, and creating practical learning opportunities for Nepal and beyond.
